ehs! i made a new dish! Shepard's Pie.
im so happy about it cos i used my gut to make the dish. no recipies or whatsoever.
isnt that cool? my sister said it tasted fabulous. woo~ cool. potato, meat, lotsa seasonings.
thats my style of cooking. actually, i love cooking. i love jus spending hours in the kitchen,
trying out new ways to make my food taste better. although my mom thinks i'm putting too
much seasoning into all my food. heh. but if i dun, my food wouldnt taste that good. weees.
seasonings and garnishings are the two most important essentials when cooking! think about it.
just salt and pepper and msg would taste just so salt-msg-y-pepperish. hees. oops. no offence to people who cook like that. i guess i'm jus really an adventurous eater.
i had a dream when i was young. to be a great cook/baker.
many laughed at it. in primary school, i was asked to write about my ambition.
i always made the composition something else. like i wanted to be a teacher or something.
because i had this dumb feeling that bakers were those who had old run down shops at void decks that sold horrible 'lao huang' (not fresh, already got wind in the pastry) pastry. yep.
my inspiration to be a great cook/patisserie (french word for baker) was brought about by.....
my MOM. yep. the greatest person in the world.
i can still remember the times when i was young. i remember what i would do EVERY evening. i would lug my toy kitchen set, along with all those toy food to the kitchen, and pretend to cook beside my mother. at the age of 6 i already knew how to cook chicken chop. not that i want to brag. i didn think anything more about that i could cook. i thought everyone my age were also doing the same stuff as me. buts, not all though.
the aroma of food smelt so great by the time dinner was almost done. =))
when me and my siblings were still young. my mom was a full time homemaker. she always had the most fun filled activities for us. looking back. i really appreciate it. without whatever she did,
i really wouldnt be the person i am today. i loveddd the times where she made dough. and mind u the dough was coloured green, blue, red, orange, yellow and purple. sounds bizzare? it was just so cool. she gave us ideas on what to make. and the cookies that came out were beautiful. =)
my mom loved to bake cakes as well. birthdays! i remember once where she made a chiffon cake with fabulous icing. amazing how flour can turn into such a lovely cake! we even made chocolates with a chocolate mould set ( my friend's). hee.
and so. i've digressed thus far. relived my memories once more. hee. i've got this strange feeling i wont be doing anything related to accounts or business after i graduate. =) oops.
maybe something like "amelia the patisserie" will be seen along orchard road. someday!
it would be so different from bread talk, prima deli and blah blah blah.
it serves only the finest and most premium cakes and desserts of all! hee..
